Assessments

Psychological assessment uses a combination of techniques (including clinical interviewing and assessment tools) to help assess a person’s capabilities and personality. Psychologists are the only professionals that are expertly trained to perform and interpret psychological tests. Healthy Minds psychologists use clinically objective and standardised measures to assist in the assessment of clients. They are highly trained and experienced in writing psychological reports that are appropriate for the intended audience.

Adults

Weschler Adult Intelligence Scale – Version 4 (WAIS IV)

Age: 16 years to 90 years of Age

Fee: $900+GST (including full report)

The WAIS-IV is an individually administered clinical assessment for adults. It aims to assess a person’s level of cognitive functioning. The assessment consists of a battery of indexes that assess specific areas of cognitive functioning. The assessment also yields a Full Scale IQ score and four Index Scores (verbal, perceptual, working memory and processing speed). The WAIS-IV is the latest version of Weschler Adult intelligence Scales and was developed in recognition of emerging demographic and clinical trends. It reflects current theory and provides the most advanced measure of cognitive ability and results you can trust.

Memory Assessment Scales (MAS)

Age: Adults

Fee: $500+GST (including full report)

The MAS is an individually administered clinical assessment for adults. Through 12 subtests it assesses three areas of cognitive functioning which are critical in the assessment of memory. These include (a) attention, concentration, and short-term memory; (b) learning and immediate memory; and (c) memory following a delay.

Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI)

Age: Adults

Fee: $500+GST (including full report)

The PAI is an individually administered clinical assessment for adults. It is an objective inventory of adult personality and assesses psychopathological syndromes and provides information relevant for clinical diagnosis, treatment planning, and screening for psychopathology. Since its introduction, the PAI has been heralded as one of the most important innovations in the field of clinical assessment.

Vocational Assessment

Fee: $700+GST (including full report)

Multiple Assessment Fee: $1100+GST WISC-V and WIAT-III (including full report)

The WIAT-III is an individually administered clinical assessment for children. It aims to identify the academic strengths and weaknesses of the student and can be used to inform decisions regarding eligibility for educational services, educational placement, or diagnosis of a specific learning disability. Results can also be used to design instructional objectives and plan interventions. The WIAT-III assesses 8 areas of achievement including oral language, reading, written language, and mathematics. The WIAT-III is the third version of this assessment and has been designed to improve the diagnostic power and sensitivity of subtests and provide maximally informative scores, skills analysis, and intervention goal statements.

Weschler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-V)

Fee: $800 + GST (including full report)

Multiple Assessment Fee: $1100+GST WISC-V and WIAT-III (including full report)

The WISC-V is an individually administered intelligence test (IQ) for children aged 6-16 years that measures a child’s intellectual ability and 5 cognitive domains that impact performance. The WISC-V can be used to identify and diagnose intellectual and learning disabilities, evaluate cognitive processing strengths and weaknesses, assess giftedness, and the impact of brain injuries.

Child Behaviour Checklist (CBCL)

Age: 6 years to 18 years of age

Fee: $400+GST (including full report)

The CBCL is a widely used method of identifying emotional and behaviour issues in children and adolescents. Its areas of assessment include mood, anxiety, attention, aggression, somatic, behavioural and social issues.

Childhood Autism Rating Scale, 2nd Edition (CARS 2)

Age: 2 years and older

Fee: $400+GST (including report)

The Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS) helps to identify children with Autism and aims to distinguish between mild-to-moderate and severe Autism. The CARS 2 assessment tool has been developed to be more responsive to individuals on the “high functioning” end of the Autism Spectrum – those with average or higher IQ scores, better verbal skills, and more subtle social and behavioural deficits. The CARS 2 helps to integrate diagnostic information, determine functional capabilities, provide feedback to parents, and design targeted intervention.

Where

Healthy Minds is happy to conduct assessments at any of our offices. We may also be able to organise for the assessment to be conducted at locations out of our office (e.g., at a school).

Multiple Clients for Assessment

As well as conducting single assessments we are happy to speak to organisations who wish to have several assessments conducted at one time or over a period of time.
